What Are Golden Moments?
The three symbols from COZY AUTUMN, explained: a maple leaf for living it, a mug for getting cozy, a candle for holding on to it. And why the best moments often have no photo.

In COZY AUTUMN, Mila says on page 7: “My three symbols.” They're the idea behind the whole book, and behind the journal that carries the name.

Maple leaf: live it
Being outside. The first cool day, the walk, the long way around because the light is pretty. Everything you can only experience when you head out.

Mug: get cozy
Being inside. Candles on, favorite sweater, phone away. The rainy afternoon at Liv's. The book you read twice.

Candle: hold on to it
Remembering. A photo with a date. Three sentences about a moment that has no photo. The pressed leaf. The letter to yourself a year from now.
What a Golden Moment is
Not a big event. A moment nobody writes down, so it gets lost: the first evening with candles, the afternoon when something important was said, the last warm day you only recognize as the last one afterward. COZY AUTUMN has seven Golden Moment pages: First Fall Photo, Cozy Moment, Golden Day, Little Proof, Us, No Photo Needed, and The One, the photo of the fall.
Mila collects them carefully. Liv says: “Okay, but we have to save the moment with the totally crooked photo, too!” They're both right.
